Meet Marco Bracamontes! Marco is our new Youth Director and stepped into his new role this week.
Marco comes from Covington, WA, where he was born and still lives. Ministry has surrounded him his entire life. His parents were Youth Pastors and from an early age he was being mentored into a life of ministry. He has fond memories of youth events, youth camps and in particular a revival among the youth in his home church.
Graduating from high school during COVID served to create a shift from living for self to living for others, to being more engaged in following Jesus. At age 17, he accepted the invitation to teach at CanZion, the worship training school now housed at Midway Covenant, and became its director three years later. He loves seeing the spiritual growth in the youth during their time at CanZion.
Listening, music and teaching the Word describe his Spiritual gifts. When asked how he knew God was calling him to direct Midway Covenant’s youth ministry, he recounted the counsel he sought from his church’s spiritual leaders, seeing the connection to ministries he had been doing and sensing God leading him to something “more”. This was that “more”. He looks forward to seeing our youth growing in hunger for Jesus.
When the Leadership Team first met Marco as the Director of CanZion, his deep background in youth ministry triggered thoughts that he’d be perfect in that role here. Praise God that he did call him as our Youth Director. Welcome, Marco! “You belong here!”
