Vision
Our vision is to create a dynamic community garden that brings together an ethnically diverse community through shared passions for agriculture and cuisine. We strive to establish a center for cultural exchange, collaboration, and sustainable living, where community members can connect, learn, and celebrate their unique traditions. By organizing diverse events and engaging in collective gardening activities, we aim to foster a sense of belonging and mutual respect, strengthening community bonds. Our initiatives focus on improving local food security and supporting programs for youth, unhoused neighbors, and environmental restoration. Additionally, we seek to build relationships between the community and the church, providing opportunities to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Initial Opening and Expansion
This is our initial opening with limited capacity, but as we procure further resources, our plan is to expand the garden capacity to accommodate up to 50 raised beds. Also, this is a green initiative. We will be implementing rainwater harvesting, solar energy capturing, and composting.

Project Management
This project will be directed by Midway Covenant Church staff and members. MCC is providing a space contained on its property for a Community Garden. The area involved will be approximately one-half acre with further expansion available depending upon community participation. This garden will be made available to members of the community in convenient proximity to their residences. Community members will be given the use of raised bed for them to develop into their own garden to plant, grow and harvest the produce of their choice.
