SUNDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY!

Our 7-week Fall series is underway! In this series, we are examining the
transformative work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of believers. By the very
presence of the living God now dwelling within us, we begin to change into his
image! While only God can cause this growth, we are called to work with the
Spirit in this lifelong process of transformation. Where are you in this process?
Using Ephesians 4-5 as our text each week, we will gently and courageously
look at our “old self” compared to our “new self” in light of our ultimate goal of
walking and talking like Jesus. Each week we will look at the spectrum of negative versus positive habits and
Biblical characters who displayed them. Come with open hearts to the ongoing work of the Spirit who is
transforming us into Jesus’ image with ever-increasing glory! Please join us on Sundays at 8:45 a.m.

INVITING ALL WOMEN!

Let’s study God’s Word and pray together! Mug ‘N Muffin is an
opportunity for women to gather each Wednesday from 10 to
11:30 am to do just that. We will be studying the Gospel of
Luke for five months (breaking for holidays), using a NavPress
Life Change booklet. Women are welcome to choose their
personal level of engagement—from just showing up on
Wednesday to deeply exploring the text. Booklets will be in the
Church Office. See you on Wednesday! Facilitator: Ruth Hill

DIGGING DEEPER…
How much do you remember? Fill in the blanks from the box below.
• Last Sunday, Pastor Shaun preached from Romans 14:14-23. In this passage, the Apostle Paul is calling us
to walk in _ by considering the needs and struggle-areas of those around us. • When we knowingly antagonize someone and cause them distress by what we eat or drink, that isn’t love. • When we deliberately cause someone to in their walk, that isn’t love.
• In fact, verse 15 warns us against behaving in ways that can “destroy someone for whom Christ died.”
• Paul urges us to stop focusing on what we (and others) eat and drink and to ourselves instead to
living lives of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit!
• Verse 19 says that it pleases God when we pursue harmony in the church and strive to build each other up.
• Philippians 2:4 says, “Each of you should not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of
others.”
• Pastor Shaun reminded us that we will
bow before the judgement seat of Christ to give account for
what we have done.
• He exhorted us to run after, and deliberately pursue, God’s peace.
• He said, “Don’t drag others down by finding fault. Instead, build each other up. godly love.”
• He encouraged us to sit down to meals, not with the primary goal of filling our plates and our ___
,
but rather to share with those at our table about the life and love of Jesus!
