Thank you to all who have taken time to write love letters of encouragement to our brothers and sisters who are suffering from homelessness. You can’t imagine the expression of confusion and gratitude one has on their face when being handed a personal handwritten letter.
I would like to continue to encourage you all to take the time to share the Gospel in your own words. It doesn’t have to be eloquent or elaborate; a simple “I love you” or recounting your own testimony is more than enough. I implore you to take out a piece of paper and sit for a moment before the Lord in prayer: “Father, you know where this letter is going to end up; you already know the eyes that will glance over it. Give me the words to put down on paper that will speak to whoever reads this. Give me the words to share that will provide hope for a better life in you. May your love permeate from this letter and break through whatever struggles, whatever obstacles, whatever lies the enemy has placed in front of your dearly beloved child, amen.”
One thing to keep in mind, when the New Testament writers wrote letters, often they were writing to audiences they had never met. They had no idea the impact of what their God-inspired words would have on the future of humanity. That is what God can accomplish when His word goes forth. Please look for the boxes in the Narthex marked love letters to our Community and place them inside. Thank you all and God bless!
[Place your love letters in the basket on the small narthex table nearest the Office door.]
