DIGGING DEEPER… How much do you remember? Fill in the blanks from the box below. • Last Sunday, Pastor Shaun preached from Psalm 46 about God, our and strength. • Pastor said it is typical for us, when we are experiencing peril or anguish, to ask “Why?” • What we forget is that trouble and in this life are a given; no one is exempt from them. • What matters is how we respond. • As followers of Jesus, we have the promises in His Word to cling to during difficult times. • Verse 7 says, “The Lord of hosts is with us! The God of is our refuge!” • Pastor reminded us that if we lean on the Lord during times of turmoil, He will be our refuge, and He will provide! • In 2 Corinthians 4, the Apostle Paul said, “We are hard _ on every side, but not crushed; persecuted, but not abandoned, struck down, but not destroyed.” • When we press into the Lord at these _ and rely on His strength rather than our own, guess what? The gates of hell shall not prevail against us – no matter how hard they try! • Right in the middle of our darkest hour, we have ___ to take heart. Why? Because we have the presence of the Holy Spirit in us, and His strength is far beyond our own!

Jacob times refuge pressed reason turmoil

NEEDS IN THE CHURCH FAMILY AND COMMUNITY

Worship/Praise Team: Have you ever considered putting your beautiful voice and leadership abilities to use on the worship/praise team? If so, talk to Laura or Erica ! Sound/Tech Team: If you have a desire to serve on the tech team and would like to be trained by none other than our very own Josh, let him know! Reminder to Keep the Heat In! With the onset of cold weather, the church building’s heat is on. In order to keep our boiler system from breaking down, we cannot prop outside doors open during the winter months.

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE…

A little girl came home from church and informed her mom that the birth of Christ was announced by angels “while shepherds washed their socks by night.”
