Is tithing an act of worship? If it is an expression of the heart, that we trust God with our finances even if the numbers don’t make sense, then yes, it is. We give God the first fruits, the best off the top, that we have set aside to give, as instructed in His Word (Proverbs 3:9-10).
However, God’s desire is not for every Christian just to give ten percent of their earnings, and check it off their “to do list.” He wants our heart to be in the right place. In essence it is an act of worship and thanksgiving for all God has done for us.
