How much will the Parsonage cost? From where will those funds come? Those are the two questions being worked on right now.
To determine how much the parsonage will cost requires selecting a viable architectural plan. Several plans have been considered; one is rising to the top as within a reasonable price point and providing adequate floor space. Once the floor plan is determined, we will get an estimate of its construction costs.
The other big question concerns what funds we can provide and what we would need to borrow. Obviously, the greater the former, the smaller the latter! We hope to reduce a future mortgage payment as much as possible. We are looking at income from event rentals (the rent of the building for private events) as one source; while not a consistent income, we do see a pattern and will estimate what it can contribute to the project. We are also looking at our funds invested in a high-yield interest savings account and will determine how much of unrestricted funds we can safely use for the project.
We’ve already been asked how you can contribute to the project—thank you! WE are the third funding source. We are working on setting that up and will be sharing that shortly. Is the Spirit leading you to financially participate in the parsonage project?
In Him,
Ruth Hill, Chair
