Regathering with Care & Compassion
Our first regathering for worship went extremely well! There were 27 people in the sanctuary and others
watching the livestream service from home—all in worship of our God! To Him be the glory. Protocols were
followed, temperatures were taken, and contact tracing forms were filled out. Thank you to everyone for so
smoothly adjusting to the new regathering structures. Our pastors were thrilled to see so many faces! The
safety and health of our church family continues to be our highest priority. Given how well everyone was
“looking not to (their) own interests, but each of (them) to the interests of the others” (Philippians 2:4), we
will be able to continue regathering.
What amazing people we are blessed with here at Midway Community Covenant Church and in this
community. This week, in addition to receiving several friendly hellos over the phone and in person, I had the
joy of saying yes to a generous donation of several much-needed racks for the clothing bank, as well as some
furniture for the church office! “The Lord is good; blessed are those who take refuge in Him.” Psalm 34:8
The Church Office is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Deb’s Inquirer’s Class
Please let Pastor Deb know if you are interested in becoming a member. The Inquirer’s Class is getting
underway and is a great place to discuss any questions you have as well as learn about the Evangelical
Covenant Church’s Affirmations and Midway Covenant’s vision and mission within the denomination.
Please contact Pastor Deb if you would like to attend.
Lesa Allen is our featured Midway praise-giver this week. Her testimony: I just want to thank you, church
family, for your encouragement and help with the clothing bank! Even though our doors are officially closed to
the public, we continue to receive donations. I have been blessed to have faithful volunteers who are working
hard to help me sort the high volumes of donated clothing. Thank you to Maria-Lucy, Jade, Steve, and Ken (and
anyone else I am forgetting). In addition to clothes, we just got a donation of clothing racks this week. We very
much needed them! I am excited about how, with everyone’s help, we are getting the clothing bank ready for
reopening to the public. I am also excited that several people from the community have been asking when we
will be open for them. None of this would be possible without all the encouragement, volunteer help, and
God’s blessing. Praise to Him.
Women’s Bible Study
The Women’s Bible study group will be transitioning from online meetings to in-person meetings starting the
week of September 10th. Women will be blessed to have Pastor Deb leading the study. All women are warmly
invited to be part of this study and fellowship! The Bible Study will once again be held in the Fellowship Hall.
Click here for a refresher on the regathering protocols, which will need to be followed by all attendees. It is
still being determined whether the study will be on Wednesday or Thursday mornings–stay tuned!
In his sermon last Sunday, August 23, Pastor Shaun again challenged Midway Covenant to be a people of
prayer and to depend on the Holy Spirit. It is the Spirit who will reveal the Church’s next steps; it is the Spirit
who will reveal how we are to minister to one another and to our neighbors surrounding the Church. As Pastor
Deb and Pastor Shaun have been showing us in Acts, when the Church prays, amazing things happen! Are you
already praying with other people in the Body? Great! Are you interested in joining an existing group or
forming a new one? Contact the Office to get connected! 206-878-4861; firstname.lastname@example.org.
